Dave Shuten has had an automotive passion all his life building model cars and playing with Hot Wheels since he was a child in Michigan. This passion turned into a 15 year career when he joined General Motors as a tool and die maker.
Dave’s enthusiasm with anything automotive steered him directly into designing and building one-off custom cars, first for himself, and then eventually leading into builds for private collectors. He has also done numerous restorations on famous historic customs including Ed “Big Daddy” Roth’s Orbitron, Dan Wood’s Milk Truck and Ice Truck, and Charlie Ryan’s Hot Rod Lincoln.
Dave went on to win the House of Kolor Prestigious Painter award in 2009 and 2010. His creations have graced the covers and pages of numerous automotive magazines such as Hot Rod Magazine, Rod and Custom, Street Rodder and Kustom Kulture.
Dave was recently brought on board to Galpin Auto Sports as the Custom Shop Foreman where he is the front man for all of the custom projects.Tweet
