Motor Authority – Galpin Teases it’s Ford GTR1


Galpin Auto Sports has built a new supercar modeled after the Ford GT and will be unveiling it tomorrow at The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering, one of the satellite events of the 2013 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance taking place this weekend in Monterey, California. We already have a good idea as to what the new supercar, labeled the Galpin Ford GTR1, will look like thanks to previous renderings but now Galpin has posted up a few teaser shots of the real thing on its Facebook page.

The GTR1 is said to ride on the bones of a Ford GT and be capable of delivering as much as 1,000 horsepower from a twin-turbocharged version of the Ford GT’s 5.4-liter V-8 engine. It’s a beast of an engine, as this audio clip confirms, and according to Galpin it will power the GTR1 to a top speed in excess of 225 mph.

Supercar: X-1 makes pitstop in Dayton


Project Supercar: X-1 will make a special appearance for visitors at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force on July 5.

The X-1 is a fully customized Ford Mustang that focuses on power and speed with a central drive system and a real F-16 ejection seat. Designed by a team of seven highly specialized Airmen with a world-renowned team of car mechanics and customizers from Galpin Auto Sports, the Supercar showcases Air Force ingenuity, state-of-the-art technology, imagination and input from some of the world’s best mechanics.

Meet Some of Galpin Auto Sports Custom Mustang Creations


GAS, or Galpin Auto Sports, has been quite popular with their highly-modified wide-body S-197 Mustangs, among other things. They’ve made quite a name for themselves after appearing on MTV’s Pimp My Ride and have only gone up from there, especially with these new wide-body kits they’ve been hand crafting for the S-197..

GAS had three wide-body Mustangs alone displayed out front of their large SEMA booth this past November. These widened ‘Stangs came in the form of a 2012 Shelby GT 500, a Mustang GT, and an orange BOSS 302. Here’s a look at those and some other Galpin-ized Mustang creations.

Gimme the Gig Press Conference Video


Galpin Auto Sports unveils their latest creation on 4 rims and tires. Mad Mike introduces all the gentlemen involved in this build for, “Gimme the Gig” contest. Don Waas, Krish and Tom Grill helmed the idea behind the magic & the GAS team lead by Mad Mike handled the task as only true professionals could. Magnolia Memoir gives the recording studio a test run and the outcome was subperb, crisp audio and all on STOCK Ford sound equipment made for a jaw dropping experience all around.
